Australian-Spanish-Scottish rock band KEI have organised Australia Meet, an end-of summer party to be held this Friday at the Irish Rover.
The guys told us "everyone knows what kangaroo meat is, but the real kangaroo meet is when they get together at the end of a long hot summer to drink at a water hole. So that is exactly what we have decided to do."
That sounds like a good reason!

WHEN: Friday 25 September at 10 p.m.
Entry is free.

Many thanks to all those who attended the Wine Tasting and Tapas Evening: An Introduction to Wine Tasting and Spanish Wine. If the number of empty bottles is a indication of how it went, it was a huge success. For those interested, the wines we tasted were:
2014 Perro Verde Verdejo
2012 Bodegas Castaño Hécula
2014 Ostatu Tinto
2011 La Multa Garnacha
Also many thanks to Chema and his team at El Colmado for the great service and for having such a wonderful tavern.
Now it's time to start planning our next event!
As requested by numerous members, we have organised a wine tasting and tapas evening on Friday 27 February. Being the first ever wine event we have organised for Gudonya and considering the range of people who have already expressed interest in attending, the evening will begin with a brief introduction to wine tasting, which will be followed by four wines that represent Spain well. Theory and practice. The evening will finish with a range of lovely tapas for dinner, during which we can discuss food and wine matching.
For more information, visit our events page.
Gudonya has begun to organise the next event, which will be a wine tasting and tapas evening after it was requested by members.
Full details will shortly follow but we want to announce the date so those interested can put it in their calendars.
When: Friday 27 February 2015 at 8 p.m.

We have posted some photos of the party on the Australia Day 2015 page.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the next event. Stay tuned!

The Gudonya website is live again!
After a long hiatus, the Gudonya website has returned with the aim of promoting the group and the events we organise to bring Australians together in Madrid. It proved successful before and we hope it will serve us well again. A web presence is more important than ever and is a logical step to getting the group up and running once more.
The site will be in continual development and will start with a blog, events, contact, join and about us pages. Although we will be looking at ways to evolve, our mission is to keep both Gudonya and its website simple: bringing Australians together in Madrid.
Please let us know what think or if you have any ideas. We would love to hear from you!
Gudonya!
